Louisville vs. Pitt 2/24/08 – thanks guys…

This Sunday, Louisville is matched up against Pitt on the road. Pitt is not a dominant team this season, but when you combine the fact that they have a respectable record, and some strong wins against Duke and Georgetown, and that they’ve bounced in and out of the top 25, you’ve got a solid team.

Here’s my gripe – they’re only showing the game in local markets! Aggghhh!!! For those of us outside of Pittsburgh and Louisville who want to see good college hoops, we do get Syracuse v. Notre Dame on CBS, but when you look at the other networks like ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, CSTV, etc….just a couple of women’s games.

Ok, ok, I know women’s basketball is great and fun, and I’m not a sexist. But can’t we have a channel just for women’s sports – ESPNW maybe? It could be parked between Lifetime and Oxygen on the cable dial. Right after the Lifetime movie about spouse abuse, fighting for your children, or some other female empowerment movie starring out of work 80’s prime time stars, you could flip it right over to ESPNW and catch the lady whatchacallits play the so-and-so-ettes.

So, I’ll likely be parked on the Syracuse/ND game, hoping for a glimpse of the score or a highlight.
